P1 E- Regulatory Bodies
Text Box: Games which are rated a PEGI 12 have a slightly graphic edge to them and may contain scenes that encourage violence and confrontation towards humans or existing animals. Furthermore, games with these age ratings may contain slight nudity throughout the game and may also contain some mild language in the dialogue.Text Box: This rating is given to games that contain graphic content such as violence or sexual content that looks the same as they would in real life. Games of this age range usually contain extreme language that is not at all suitable for children. 16 rated games may also include the use of drugs and depiction of other criminal activities.http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/323.gif PEGI (Pan European Game Information)
Pan European Game Information is a European video game content rating system established to help European consumers make important decisions on buying computer games with logos on games’ boxes. It was developed by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe and came into use in 2003; it replaced many national age rating systems with a single European system.

Text Box: Games which are given this age rating are generally considered to be suitable for all age ranges. Although these games may not be completely absent of violence, it is usually only comical violence, disregarding any graphic content such as blood or mutilation. Games with this rating should not contain any sounds or images which are likely to frighten young children.http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/320.gifAge Ratings System
Text Box: Games with an 18 or over rating will include the depiction of gross/strong violence throughout. They will also include extreme language and the use of drugs.http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/324.gifhttp://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/322.gifText Box: PEGI 7 is very similar to PEGI 3, some of the similarities include not being able to use images which may frighten young children, which is why these games should not be considered suitable for children under the age of 7.http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/321.gif

            P1F-Developmental Software
Different modes of games development: there is ways you can make video games rather than the Rockstar way.
The first is a business model which shows how expensive it is to make games these days especially for the PS3 and 360.

2.) The ‘Tent Pole’ business model.
This model is similar to the business model. The main idea is that the publisher releases one ‘blockbuster accompanied with heavy marketing and investment. Then the money made from made from this game supports the development of other ‘riskier’, potentially more creative games.
An example is Grand Theft Auto brings in a lot of money for Rockstar which allows them to invest in smaller games such as ‘Bully’, ‘LA Noire’ and ‘Agent’
In 2008, EA spent $372 million on research development, this is because PS3 and Xbox 360 games can cost up to $100 million to make.

How much does it cost to develop for PlayStation 4?
Polygon (my source) spoke to various development sources who say that the PlayStation 4 dev kit costs about $2,500, which is $2,000 more than an Xbox One.
A spokesperson for Sony said that ‘Self-publishing has been available on PlayStation platforms for over five years, so it’s nothing new’.
“With Self-publishing, we keep things really flexible for developers and give them lots of options, including funding through the Pub Fund, which is back-end funding paid upon completion of the game, we waive patch fees for indies and all digital titles and we embrace new business models like F2P, episodic and subscriptions. We’ve had more than 500 games self-published on PSN.”
In the previous generation, PS3 dev kits cost between $1,000 and $10,000. Generally, there are different levels of dev kits, ranging in debug functionality and pricing. The $2,500 price point seems to be a popular option among most developers.
Sony, the parent company of PlayStation said it would not be changing its self-publishing process, which are detailed on a website
